The Tale of Princess Kaguya (かぐや姫の物語, Kaguyahime no Monogatari) is Studio Ghibli's retelling of the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹取物語, Taketori Monogatari), a japanese folk tale that tells the story of a poor man who finds a princess of otherworldly beauty inside a bamboo stalk.
